Hometown: McMinnville, Oregon
Currently living in the Portland, Oregon metro area
I grew up in the once small town of McMinnville, Oregon. I was a very “active” boy-lol, as a child. My neighborhood friends and I would ride our bikes into the woods and across town. As teenagers, we partied way up in the Oregon Coast Range Mountains-miles west of town.
We loved to use our imaginations to explore, pretend, impersonate, make our own sports shirts, and made instruments to have “air-band” concerts for our neighbors. We even had our own language!
We would wear costumes, (with make-up) wear funny outfits, light firecrackers, blowing up models we had worked hard on, and made up fun games. We were always outside, creating some kind of humorous and creative fun. We would say “If it’s not funny then why do it?”
We were always covered with dirt and often mud from the rough games we played…all the time. The ages of our neighborhood tackle football games at the local school was 10-16. I was one of the 10 year-olds. Sure, I got hurt sometimes but that was just part of it.
My parents were from La Grande, Oregon. (North Eastern Oregon) My dad was a career educator for over 40 years in the local school district, and my mom worked at a local bank. I have 3 siblings.
All four of my grandparents played music professionally. They had musical instruments everywhere in their homes. I was very intrigued with music at a very young age. They encouraged me to love and play music.
